Matty Cash off with dead leg on Poland duty ahead of Brentford

📰 Aston Villa's Matty Cash was forced off with a dead leg in the final game of the international break, leaving him a doubt for Brentford. 📌 Key points 🇵🇱 Cash was substituted in the second half of Poland v Bosnia on 5 October. 🩹 The problem is a dead leg and is not thought to be serious. 🏃 He started all four of Poland's games in ten days. 🏟️ Villa restart the league at home to Brentford on 10 October. 🔄 Aaron Wan-Bissaka is ready to step in at right-back. 📝 What happened 🤕 Cash limped off after the hour mark in Poland's Nations League match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 October, which Poland lost 1-0. Polish outlet WP SportoweFakty reported he was in so much pain that he had to come off. 🩺 The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell reported that the injury is a dead leg and that Cash is expected to be fit for Villa's upcoming matches. He returned to Birmingham on 6 October to be assessed by the club's medical staff. 📅 Cash missed three Villa matches last month with a muscle problem before returning in the second half of the 3-2 win at Tottenham just before the break. He then played 292 minutes across four games for Poland. 🔄 Sports Mole believes Unai Emery is unlikely to take any risks with him. Wan-Bissaka, who started four straight matches in Cash's absence last month, is on standby. 📊 By the numbers • Four starts and 292 minutes for Poland • Three Villa games missed last month with a muscle issue • Seven Villa matches between 10 and 31 October 🔭 Why it matters Villa go straight into a packed October with seven games in three weeks. Losing their first-choice right-back at the start of that run would complicate Emery's rotation, although Pau Torres, Leon Goretzka and Brian Madjo are expected back. Villa host Brentford at Villa Park at 3pm BST on Saturday 10 October.
