Lens lose Sima until late November with thigh injury before Lyon
Post
📰 Lens forward Abdallah Sima will be out until the end of November after getting injured on international duty.
📌 Key points
🤕 Sima returned from Senegal duty with a thigh injury.
📅 Yannick Cahuzac confirmed he is out until the end of November.
⚡ The coach called losing Sima's pace and runs in behind the major issue.
✅ Haidara, Baidoo, Titraoui and Abdulhamid are back.
🏟️ Lens, 15th, host second-placed Lyon on 9 October.
📝 What happened
🤕 After a report in L'Équipe, Cahuzac confirmed the injury at his press conference on 7 October. Sima hurt his thigh with Senegal and is not expected back until after the next international break, at the end of November.
⚡ Sima had started the season well. Cahuzac said losing a forward with his depth and speed was the biggest problem to come out of the break.
✅ There was better news elsewhere. Amadou Haidara was cleared after a scare with Mali, defender Samson Baidoo is back ahead of schedule, and Yassine Titraoui and Saud Abdulhamid got minutes in a 2-0 friendly win over Standard Liège.
🩺 Centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo is still in a fitness protocol and will return to training on Thursday before a decision on Lyon.
📊 By the numbers
• Sima's expected absence: until late November
• Lens: 4 points from 5 games, 15th
• Lyon: 11 points, 2nd
• Friendly v Standard Liège: won 2-0
🔭 Why it matters
Cahuzac took over just before the break and is still waiting for his first league win. Without a key attacker, Lens face second-placed Lyon on 9 October.
