Struggling Lens host unbeaten Lyon as Cahuzac chases first win

📰 Struggling Lens face high-flying Lyon in the opening game of Ligue 1's sixth round. 📌 Key points 🏟️ Round six begins at Lens's Bollaert on Friday 9 October. 📉 Lens are 15th on four points with one win from five. 🔥 Lyon are second on 11 points and unbeaten in five. 🧑‍💼 Lens boss Yannick Cahuzac is chasing his first win. 🔁 Lens won the last meeting between the sides 4-0. 📝 What happened 📉 Lens have won just once in their first five games and sit 15th on four points. A defence that has conceded nine goals in five matches is the biggest worry. 🧑‍💼 Yannick Cahuzac, who took charge in mid-September, lost his first game 2-1 to Monaco. He used the international break to restore the club's traditional identity. 🔥 Paulo Fonseca's Lyon are second and unbeaten in five. They have scored ten and conceded only two, and thrashed Rennes 4-0 last time out. 🩹 Lens are without Maik Nawrocki (cruciate ligament tear) and Samson Baidoo (dead leg). Lyon have no reported absentees. 📊 By the numbers • Lens: 15th, 4 points (one win in five) • Lyon: 2nd, 11 points (unbeaten in five, 10 scored, 2 conceded) • 108 meetings: Lyon 45 wins, Lens 38 • 56 meetings at Lens: Lens 28 wins, Lyon 15 👀 What to watch 🧱 Lens's defence — Whether a back line that has leaked nine goals in five can hold Lyon is the first key. Losing defender Nawrocki to a cruciate injury does not help. 🧑‍💼 Cahuzac's first win — After a debut defeat, he has had more than two weeks to work with his squad. Now he needs a result in front of the home fans. 🔥 Lyon's unbeaten run — Lyon have conceded just twice in five. Keeping that going away from home would strengthen their push at the top. 🔁 Bollaert memories — The last meeting ended in a 4-0 Lens win, and Lens have won 28 of 56 home games against Lyon. 🔭 Why it matters Lens badly need points to pull clear of the bottom, while Lyon want to cement their place near the top. Kick-off is 8.45pm local time on Friday 9 October at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
