Juventus have doubts over Woltemade as they eye Retegui and Balogun

📰 Juventus are already having doubts about loan striker Nick Woltemade and are looking at alternatives, according to an Italian report. 📌 Key points 🔍 La Gazzetta says Juventus are not convinced by Woltemade. 🙈 His open-goal miss for Germany against Serbia went viral. 🎯 Retegui, Balogun and Raimondo are named as alternatives. 📅 Any move is aimed at summer 2027, not January. 🔚 Woltemade's loan is expected to end in June 2027 as planned. 📝 What happened 🗞️ According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia, Juventus are reassessing Woltemade just over a month after his loan move from Newcastle. The 1.98m forward is seen more as a second striker than a classic No 9. 🙈 The international break did not help. In Munich against Serbia he sent the ball over the bar from two yards with the goal gaping, drawing criticism in the German press. He has played sparingly for Germany and is yet to score. 🎯 Juventus are weighing three options: former Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui, now at Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia; ex-Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun at Monaco; and Antonio Raimondo, on loan at Frosinone from Bologna with four league goals. 📊 By the numbers • Woltemade's height: 1.98m • Loan due to end: June 2027 • Raimondo this season: 4 league goals • Alternatives named: 3 🔭 Why it matters Juventus seem to be planning to solve their striker problem next summer rather than in January. Until then, the question is whether Woltemade can turn things around. Juve visit Cagliari on 11 October and host Lazio on 18 October.
