The caption, "VARgonha total", is a pun on VAR and the Portuguese word for shame, "vergonha". 📏 The first was Porto's 2-1 comeback win at Marítimo. Oskar Pietuszewski's goal was initially disallowed for offside but was given after a VAR review judged him about one centimetre onside. ✋ The second was Sporting's 3-1 win at Braga, where Benfica pointed to an Issa Doumbia handball in the penalty area as a refereeing error. 🧭 Benfica are now coached by Marco Silva after losing José Mourinho to Real Madrid in the summer. They lost 3-1 away to Porto in O Clássico on 20 September. 📊 By the numbers • Porto: eight wins from eight, 24 points (1st) • Benfica: 19 points (2nd) • Sporting: 18 points (3rd) • Margin on Pietuszewski's goal: about 1cm 🔭 Why it matters Porto's perfect run has opened a five-point gap over Benfica.
