Koundé 'set to stay at Barcelona' despite interest from five PL clubs

📰 Jules Koundé is reportedly choosing to fight for his place at Barcelona rather than seek a January exit. 📌 Key points 🏠 Sport reports Koundé is not considering a move in January. 🔄 Eric García has established himself at right-back. 💪 Koundé believes he can win back Hansi Flick's trust. 🏴 Five Premier League clubs are watching, but no formal offer has been made. 💰 The club may still consider a big offer, according to another report. 📝 What happened 🏠 Catalan daily Sport says Koundé has no plans to leave in the winter window. Rather than rushing a decision, he wants to focus on reclaiming his role at the club. 🔄 Once one of Flick's most trusted players, Koundé has seen his influence shrink this season as Eric García has taken his chance at right-back. Flick is still said to value Koundé's experience and his ability to play at full-back or centre-back. 🏴 Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are monitoring the France international. There is no formal offer and no open negotiation, with the English clubs waiting to see whether anything changes by January. 💰 Mundo Deportivo, however, reports that Barcelona have not completely closed the door and could study a significant offer that also appealed to the player. 📊 By the numbers • Koundé's contract: until June 2030 • Interested clubs: five from the Premier League • This season: 261 minutes in five matches (per Urgente24) 🔭 Why it matters Barcelona won all seven league games before the break, so Flick has little reason to change a winning side. Even if Koundé stays, a quick return to the starting line-up will not be easy. If his minutes do not rise before January, Premier League interest could grow. Barcelona host Getafe at 6.30pm CEST on Saturday 10 October.
