They have scored ten and conceded four. 🏅 Amorim is only the third foreign coach in Milan's history to avoid defeat in his first five league games, after Luis Carniglia and Nils Liedholm in 1963/64, and the first Milan coach of any nationality since Massimo Giacomini in 1979/80. 🩹 In Europe, though, Milan lost 2-0 at home to Benfica in their opening Europa League game – Amorim's first defeat – with goals from Dodi Lukebakio and Jakub Kamiński. 🗣️ Amorim said there was still a lot of work to do and many things missing, adding that he does not like people calling it "Amorim's Milan" because "Milan is Milan". 📊 By the numbers • Serie A: W3 D2, 10 scored, 4 conceded, 11 points • 5th, two points behind leaders Roma • First Milan coach unbeaten in his first five since Giacomini in 1979/80 🔭 Why it matters After his struggles at United, a smooth start in Milan is a chance for Amorim to rebuild his reputation. But the European defeat and his own admission of shortcomings suggest it is too early to judge. Milan face Sassuolo after the break, followed by a Europa League meeting with Salzburg.
