Carvajal: Real Madrid dressing-room fights 'happened several times'
Post
📰 Real Madrid great Carvajal says dressing-room fights were common and hit out at the leak of the Valverde–Tchouaméni clash.
📌 Key points
🎙️ Carvajal opened up on the Madrid dressing room on Cadena SER's El Larguero.
🥊 He said player fights happened several times but never came out.
🤐 He criticised the Valverde–Tchouaméni clash reaching the press in 30 minutes.
✈️ Seeing the war up close ended his move to Qatar's Al-Gharafa.
👏 He called Mourinho's Clásico approach "very brave".
📝 What happened
🎙️ Carvajal, who left Madrid for Getafe in the summer, appeared on Spanish radio show El Larguero. "Fights between players have happened several times. But nothing was ever revealed," he said.
🤐 On last season's Valverde–Tchouaméni clash he said it was "not important at all", but complained that "half an hour later it was published in the press". In his view, what happens in the dressing room should stay there.
✈️ He revealed a move to Al-Gharafa in Qatar was nearly complete, but he changed his mind after "witnessing the war up close" through his brother-in-law Joselu. Joining Getafe was "a decision born of great passion", he said, after a year out injured left him wanting "to feel like a footballer again".
👏 On Madrid's 2-1 Clásico win he said "Mourinho's approach was very brave", adding that the right-back choice is difficult and Mourinho must decide match by match.
📊 By the numbers
• Time for the Valverde–Tchouaméni clash to reach the press: about 30 minutes (per Carvajal)
• Time out injured before his move: about a year
• Clásico result: Madrid 2-1 win
🔭 Why it matters
It is rare for a former Madrid captain to admit openly that dressing-room fights were routine. By flagging the leaks, he also raises questions about how tightly Mourinho's Madrid can control what gets out. Madrid travel to Racing Santander on 1 November.
