England hit Croatia for seven in Rijeka as Kane and Saka score twice

📰 England ran riot in an empty stadium in Croatia, scoring seven to record their biggest ever Nations League win. 📌 Key points 🏟️ England won 7-0 away to Croatia in Rijeka on 3 October. ⚽ Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scored twice. 🎯 Jude Bellingham ran the game with a goal and three assists. 📈 It is England's biggest margin of victory in the Nations League. 🚫 Croatia played without home fans because of a UEFA sanction. 📝 What happened ⚽ Kane opened the scoring on eight minutes after Bellingham's through ball. Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Saka followed to make it 4-0 at half-time. Kane and Saka each added another after the break before substitute Morgan Rogers rounded off the scoring. 🎯 Bellingham scored once and set up three, while Kane moved on to 89 international goals, extending his England record. 🚫 The match was played behind closed doors as punishment for incidents involving Croatia supporters at their Nations League quarter-final against France in March 2025, including alleged Nazi salutes and fireworks. Around 6,000 local schoolchildren and 100 England fans were allowed in. 🗣️ Thomas Tuchel said his side created a huge number of chances and were very clinical. 📊 By the numbers • Kane's international goals: 89 • England: 6 points from 3 Nations League games, 3 behind leaders Spain • Croatia's heaviest defeat in their history 🔭 Why it matters The rout puts England firmly back in the race for the top places in the group. But Croatia collapsed in unusual fashion and the empty stadium was a factor, so the real test will come against stronger opposition. England host Czechia at Wembley on 6 October.
