Post
📰 Inter stayed in profit despite falling revenue, and Chivu insists money is not everything.
📌 Key points
💰 Inter made a net profit of €22.7m in 2025-26.
📉 Revenue fell by €49.3m to €517.7m.
📺 UEFA TV income dropped from €136.8m to €73.8m.
💸 Player wages rose to €161m.
🗣️ Chivu: "Money can't buy the Champions League."
📝 What happened
💰 According to Calcio e Finanza, Inter made a net profit of €22.7m in 2025-26. That is down from €35.4m the year before, but it is a second straight profit under Oaktree's ownership.
📉 Revenue fell from €567m to €517.7m, still the club's second-highest turnover. The boost from the previous Champions League final run faded, UEFA TV income dropped sharply, and the €31.4m from the Club World Cup was not repeated. A €22.3m share of the Serie A international TV rights settlement helped.
🏦 Operating costs fell 4% to €462.8m, and net financial costs more than halved to €16.8m after a bond refinancing. Equity moved from -€12.3m to €10.4m. Total debt stands at €665.4m.
🗣️ On the same day, at his press conference before the Champions League home game with Club Brugge on 13 October, Chivu said money cannot buy the Champions League and stressed courage and hard work. He said the squad is "rowing in the same direction".
📊 By the numbers
• Net profit €22.7m (previous year €35.4m)
• Revenue €517.7m (previous year €567m)
• Player wages €161m (previous year €154.6m)
• Total debt €665.4m, cash €120m
🔭 Why it matters
While many big European clubs bleed money, Inter stayed in the black even as revenue fell. But the figures show how much they rely on Champions League income. After a 2-1 defeat at Real Madrid in their opener, the Brugge game on 13 October matters for results and finances alike, with trips to Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund to follow.
