Koundé reportedly linked with Bayern and five Premier League clubs
Post
📰 With his minutes cut at Barcelona, Jules Koundé is being linked with Bayern Munich and several Premier League clubs. Nothing is agreed.
📌 Key points
🔍 According to Sport, Bayern see Koundé as a possible replacement for Kim Min-jae.
🏴 TEAMtalk say Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United and Man City are aware he is available.
🪑 Koundé has played only 261 minutes in Barcelona's first eight games.
💰 Sport put Barça's asking price at around €50m, up to €60m mid-season.
🗣️ Koundé admits last season was "far below my standards".
📝 What happened
🔍 Spanish outlet Sport reported on 30 September that Bayern are seriously considering Koundé as a replacement for Kim Min-jae and regard him as one of their main targets. The same report says Barcelona are under pressure to sell to ease the wage bill, with Koundé's salary of around €15.6m a year among their biggest burdens. The asking price is said to be about €50m, rising to €60m for a mid-season sale.
🏴 TEAMtalk reported that Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have been told about Koundé's possible availability, with Chelsea described as long-term admirers. No formal offers are understood to have been made.
🪑 The backdrop is his lack of football. Koundé has reportedly played just 261 minutes across the first eight games and has been an unused substitute in the last three. Hansi Flick has preferred Eric García at right-back, and João Cancelo's return plus 19-year-old academy graduate Xavi Espart have added competition. "If I have less playing time, it's due to last season, which was far below my standards," Koundé said. "It's up to me to rediscover my best form."
📊 By the numbers
• This season: 261 minutes in the first eight games (Eric García: 469)
• Reported asking price: around €50m (up to €60m mid-season)
• Reported salary: around €15.6m a year
• Sources: Sport, TEAMtalk (medium reliability) — reports, not confirmed
🔭 Why it matters
Koundé has been a Barça regular for years, so his situation shows how ruthless Flick's selection policy is. Combined with Barcelona's finances, the question is whether real talks begin in January. A move to Bayern would also be tied to Kim Min-jae's future.
