๐ Key points
๐๏ธ Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield on 25 October.
๐๏ธ It was their first Premier League home win since April.
โฝ Wirtz's shot deflected in off Gross for an own goal.
๐ฏ Isak scored his sixth league goal, in his third straight league game.
๐ฃ๏ธ Wirtz answered his critics: "Maybe I'm just an interesting guy."
๐ What happened
โฝ Liverpool went ahead when Florian Wirtz's shot deflected in off Brighton's Pascal Gross, credited as an own goal. Alexander Isak then finished a move started by Bradley Barcola to make it 2-0.
๐ Liverpool had only 35.6% of the ball, their second-lowest possession in a Premier League home win since 2003-04, according to Opta. The win lifted them to fourth.
๐ฃ๏ธ Andoni Iraola praised "a team that you can trust". He said Wirtz, who came off after twisting his ankle, had a small problem and that he did not yet know whether it was even an injury.
๐ Wirtz, criticised since his ยฃ116m move, said: "Maybe I'm just an interesting guy," and on his ankle: "I think it will be alright, it's not too bad." Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler called it a "missed opportunity", pointing to two easy mistakes.
