San Siro sale appeals all thrown out, boosting Inter and Milan
Post
๐ฐ The legal challenges blocking Inter and Milan's new stadium plans have all been thrown out.
๐ Key points
โ๏ธ Milan's regional administrative court rejected all five challenges on 6 October.
๐ Four were ruled inadmissible and one was rejected on its merits.
๐๏ธ The clubs can press on with demolishing San Siro and building anew.
๐ฏ The target is completion in 2031, in time for Euro 2032.
โ ๏ธ A Council of State appeal and a bid-rigging probe remain risks.
๐ What happened
โ๏ธ On 6 October the regional administrative court (TAR) dismissed every challenge to the city's sale of San Siro, the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, and the surrounding land to Inter and Milan. It ruled on five cases together, the earliest filed in 2022 by residents and associations.
๐ According to ANSA, four were declared inadmissible on procedural grounds and one was rejected on its merits. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that only councillor Enrico Fedrighini's appeal from November 2025 was examined in full.
๐๏ธ Gazzetta puts the whole project at โฌ2.3bn, including โฌ700m for the 71,500-seat stadium and โฌ400m for hotels, shops and offices. Foster + Partners and Manica are designing it.
โ ๏ธ Opponents can still appeal to the Council of State until 6 April 2027, and a Milan court investigation into alleged bid-rigging is ongoing.

๐ญ Why it matters
San Siro has held Inter and Milan back for years, and this ruling lets them speed up. New renderings are due between late October and early November, an environmental opinion by mid-December and city council approval by March 2027. Italy co-host Euro 2032 with Tรผrkiye.
