Bayern in tricky talks to keep 17-year-old keeper Leonard Prescott

📰 Bayern Munich are trying to stop 17-year-old goalkeeper Leonard Prescott leaving on a free, but the talks are proving difficult. 📌 Key points ✍️ Sky reports Bayern are in talks over a new contract for Prescott. 📅 His current deal expires in the summer of 2027. 🧤 Jonas Urbig is seen as the long-term No 1, limiting Prescott's path. 🩹 He is recovering from a meniscus injury suffered in June. 👀 Several clubs in Germany and abroad are said to be interested. 📝 What happened ✍️ According to Sky's Bayern podcast "Mia san vier", the club are negotiating a new deal to prevent Prescott leaving for nothing when his contract runs out. 🧤 The sticking point is playing time. Bayern see Jonas Urbig as their long-term first-choice goalkeeper, so they cannot offer Prescott a clear path to the first team. 🩹 The Germany Under-17 international has not played since injuring his meniscus in June. 👀 Despite that, Sky says numerous clubs in Germany and abroad are interested in him. 📊 By the numbers • Prescott's age: 17 • Contract expires: summer 2027 • Injury: meniscus, June, still in rehab 🔭 Why it matters Bayern are planning for life after Manuel Neuer, but keeping both Urbig and Prescott happy will not be easy. Convincing a young keeper who wants games is the challenge. Bayern face Augsburg in the league on 10 October.
