Bayern add giant training screens, but two-thirds drop on day one

📰 Bayern Munich have put up new giant screens to shield their training ground from outside view. 📌 Key points 🧱 Bayern have installed giant screens at Säbener Straße. 🎛️ The grey tarpaulins can be raised and lowered by remote control. 🏟️ Kompany now has three fully shielded pitches. 😅 Around two-thirds of the screens came down after 30 minutes on day one. ⚔️ The aim is to hide tactics, particularly before the Champions League game with Arsenal on 21 October. 📝 What happened 🧱 FCBinside.de, citing Bild, reports that Bayern have installed new 'XXL' screens at Säbener Straße. The remote-controlled grey tarpaulins block three pitches completely from view, and the outlet likened the set-up to Fort Knox. 🎛️ The screens were first used at Monday's session on 6 October. But about 30 minutes in, a technical problem caused roughly two-thirds of them to retract. 🕰️ Bayern had similar screening during Pep Guardiola's time. This time the aim is to keep pre-match tactical work out of sight, with the Champions League game against Arsenal on 21 October particularly in mind, the outlet said. 👟 Kimmich, Tah, Brown, Neuer, Ulreich, Boey, Davies and Díaz trained that day along with academy players. Other internationals had not yet returned. 📊 By the numbers • Fully shielded pitches: 3 • First used: 6 October • Glitch: about 30 minutes in, roughly two-thirds of the screens came down 🔭 Why it matters Bayern begin a run of Bundesliga and Champions League games with the derby at Augsburg on 10 October. The screens show how keen Kompany is to keep his tactics hidden, though after a troublesome first day, it remains to be seen whether they will do the job. Next up is the trip to Augsburg on Saturday 10 October.
