Inter beat Venezia via two own goals as Chivu admits 'we were lucky'
Post
๐ฐ Inter set a club record start thanks to two Venezia own goals.
๐ Key points
โฝ Inter won 2-0 away at Venezia on 28 October.
๐ Both goals were Venezia own goals.
๐ 25 points from nine games is the club's best start in the three-points era.
๐ฃ๏ธ Chivu openly admitted Inter were lucky.
๐๏ธ They face fifth-placed Milan in the derby on 31 October.
๐ What happened
๐ With the derby three days away, Chivu rotated heavily. It was 0-0 at half-time, and Venezia were the more dangerous side: Lauberbach had a goal ruled out for offside on 29 minutes and hit the bar on 36.
โฑ๏ธ Chivu brought on Barella, Calhanoglu and Akanji together at the break. Venezia had another goal, by Adams on 72 minutes, ruled out by VAR.
๐ The deadlock was broken by home errors: Matias Moreno turned into his own net on 79 minutes and Redouane Halhal did the same on 82.
๐ฃ๏ธ Chivu said afterwards: 'We were a bit lucky today to bring it home' and 'we also took risks'. He admitted he wanted to replace everyone at half-time, saying Inter lacked energy and were slow.
