Konsa shakes off knock to start England's 7-0 rout of Croatia

📰 Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa shook off a minor knock to start England's record 7-0 Nations League win away to Croatia. 📌 Key points 🩹 Konsa sat out the Czech Republic game with a minor fitness issue 🗣️ Thomas Tuchel confirmed he had completed full training 🏟️ He started at centre-back in Rijeka on 3 October ⚽ England won 7-0, a record Nations League victory 🗓️ Arsenal host Leeds on 10 October 📝 What happened 🩹 Konsa was an unused substitute in England's midweek win over the Czech Republic. Speaking the day before the Croatia game, Tuchel said Konsa was back, had done the full session and was a key player for the side. 🏟️ He duly started alongside Marc Guéhi at Stadion HNK Rijeka. Harry Kane (8', 53') and Bukayo Saka (45', 68') scored twice each, with Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers also on target in a 7-0 rout. 📈 The FA described it as a record Nations League win for the Three Lions. For Croatia it was their heaviest international defeat, with Bellingham adding several assists to his goal. 🔁 It is welcome news for Arsenal. With William Saliba still working his way back from injury and no firm return date, Konsa getting through a full match without problems matters. Saka, also of Arsenal, added two goals of his own. 📊 By the numbers • Croatia 0-7 England (3 October, Rijeka) • Kane 2, Saka 2, Bellingham, Gordon, Rogers 1 each • Konsa: unused v Czech Republic → started v Croatia 🔭 Why it matters With Saliba out, Konsa is a key piece of Mikel Arteta's back line. Having proved his fitness with England, he is now well placed to start against Leeds on 10 October, though how Arsenal manage his workload after the international break is worth watching.
