Arsenal bid claim for Mexico's Mora as Liverpool's $50m offer disputed

📰 Conflicting reports are swirling around Mexican teenager Gilberto Mora, with Arsenal and Liverpool both linked as his 18th birthday approaches. 📌 Key points 📨 Mexican outlets say Arsenal have made a proposal to Tijuana for Mora. 💵 TUDN's David Faitelson claimed Liverpool offered more than $50m. ❌ Journalist César Luis Merlo says there have been enquiries but no formal offer. 🤐 Agent Rafaela Pimenta: "I don't comment on transfer rumours." 🎂 Mora turns 18 on 14 October, opening the door to a move abroad. 📝 What happened 📨 Sport Witness, citing El Porvenir and El Universal, reports that Arsenal have approached Tijuana's directors and submitted a proposal for a possible January move. No fee has been disclosed. 💵 Earlier, TUDN's David Faitelson claimed Liverpool had offered more than $50m, which would make Mora the most expensive Mexican player ever. ❌ But Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo says several clubs have asked about Mora's situation without any of them making a formal bid. His agent Rafaela Pimenta refused to be drawn: "Please understand that I don't comment on transfer rumours." 📊 By the numbers • Mora turns 18: 14 October • Tijuana contract: until June 2029 • Claimed Liverpool offer: more than $50m (Faitelson) 🔭 Why it matters FIFA rules generally block international transfers for under-18s, so 14 October is a key date. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica are also said to be watching, so the race could heat up before January. Arsenal host Leeds on 10 October and Liverpool face Manchester City on 11 October.
