📰 Struggling Manchester United host Tottenham at Old Trafford on 10 October in their first game after the break. 📌 Key points 📉 United have won just one of their five Premier League games. 🏆 They went out of the Carabao Cup after a 3-2 home loss to Brighton. 🏟️ Bottom-of-the-table Tottenham visit Old Trafford on 10 October. 🗣️ Michael Carrick called talk of pressure "ridiculous". 🧢 Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi badly needs a result too. 📝 What happened 📉 United lost back-to-back home games to Manchester City and Brighton. In the League Cup they threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2, which GOAL said was the first time in 50 years United had surrendered a two-goal home lead. 🔁 At Fulham on 20 September they trailed to a Lisandro Martínez own goal before Matheus Cunha equalised in the 89th minute. That left them with one league win in five and ten points behind leaders City. 🗣️ Carrick brushed off talk of his future: "It's ridiculous to think that way in a position that I'm in. That's just not on the radar." 🧢 Tottenham are bottom, and De Zerbi, appointed in March, is also under scrutiny. 📊 By the numbers • United: one win in five league games, ten points off the top • Carabao Cup: lost 3-2 to Brighton after leading 2-0 • Cunha's 89th-minute leveller at Fulham 👀 What to watch 🔴 Concentration at the back — the Brighton collapse exposed United's defence. Can they hold a lead? ⚽ Cunha's finishing — he rescued a point at Fulham and may be needed again. 🧠 Coaches under pressure — both Carrick and De Zerbi need a win; the loser heads into autumn with more questions. 🔁 The break — three weeks on the training ground. Will it show? 🔭 Why it matters Facing the bottom side at home raises the stakes. A win could spark a recovery; a defeat would deepen doubts about Carrick.
