Arsenal hit Lille for three in seven minutes as Saka closes on Henry

📰 Arsenal scored three times in seven second-half minutes to beat Lille 3-0 and make it two from two in Europe. 📌 Key points ⚽ Timber, Eze and Saka scored between the 64th and 71st minutes. 🔄 Saka scored six minutes after coming off the bench. 📜 Saka now has 19 goals in major European competition, second at the club. 🧱 Arsenal have won 14 Champions League group or league-phase games in a row. 🚫 Lille did not register a shot on target. 📝 What happened 😬 The first half was frustrating. Bruno Guimarães, making his first Emirates start, sent a simple chance wide on 20 minutes, and efforts from Mikel Merino and Eze went straight at the goalkeeper. Lille had Ayase Ueda's goal ruled out for offside on 23 minutes. ⚽ Timber broke the deadlock on 64 minutes with a low finish from Noni Madueke's cross. Three minutes later Eze's shot went in off a slight deflection from Saka's pass, and on 71 minutes Saka turned in Kai Havertz's cut-back from close range. It was the first goal of the season for both Timber and Eze. 🤒 Saka had felt unwell before the game. Arteta had challenged him to score "two or three goals per game", and he answered quickly off the bench. Arteta said it was a joy to see goals come from different players, and that the triple substitution was right because the game needed different types of players. 🇫🇷 Lille coach Davide Ancelotti said his side could not match Arsenal's rhythm after the hour, but felt the scoreline was too harsh. 📊 By the numbers • Saka's goals in major European competition: 19 (second only to Henry's 42) • Saka's Champions League assists: 9 (behind Henry's 16 and Fàbregas's 14) • Consecutive UCL group/league-phase wins: 14 (nine clean sheets in that run) • Lille shots on target: 0 🔭 Why it matters Even without Zubimendi and Hincapié, Arsenal kept a clean sheet and made it two wins from two.
