📰 With Lee Kang-in starting, Atletico beat Man Utd 2-0 for their first Champions League win. 📌 Key points ⚡ Pablo Barrios scored inside the first minute. 🇰🇷 Lee Kang-in started in a front two and came off in the second half. 🟥 Leny Yoro was sent off on 74 minutes after a VAR review. 🎯 Ademola Lookman sealed it from a rebound on 79 minutes. 📉 United are now winless in five games. 📝 What happened ⚡ The Metropolitano had barely settled when Barrios struck, finishing low after Álex Baena slipped the ball into the box; Ayden Heaven could not keep it out. 🇰🇷 Lee wore No. 7 and started up front in Atletico's 4-4-2 before being replaced by Jonathan David in the second half. 🟥 Johnny Cardoso had a goal ruled out by VAR late in the first half, and both Alejandro Grimaldo's free kick and Julián Álvarez's close-range effort hit the post. Diego Simeone was booked for protesting. Yoro's red card on 74 minutes, after a VAR check, tipped the balance for good. 🎯 On 79 minutes Senne Lammens saved from substitute David, but Lookman followed up. Jan Oblak denied Matheus Cunha in stoppage time. 📊 By the numbers • Possession: Atletico 58%, United 42% • xG: 1.42 v 0.98 • Woodwork: Atletico hit the post twice (Grimaldo, Álvarez) • United: five games without a win 🔭 Why it matters After losing 2-1 at Liverpool on matchday one, Atletico are off the mark, and Lee's start up front in a big game against United showed Simeone's trust in him. United, who opened with a 4-0 win over Sabah, are sliding again and lost Yoro to a red card. Michael Carrick's position will come under more scrutiny if they fail to respond at Leeds on 18 October.
