Man City eye Dortmund's 17-year-old Mathis Albert, but BVB won't sell
Post
๐ฐ According to Bild, Manchester City want Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old forward Mathis Albert.
๐ Key points
๐ต Bild says City are interested in the 17-year-old.
๐ญ Dortmund are aware but have had no concrete offer.
๐ด Liverpool and Arsenal are also keen, but with lower chances.
๐บ๐ธ Albert is the youngest American to play in the Bundesliga.
๐ Dortmund have no intention of selling a player on a long-term deal.
๐ What happened
๐ต According to Get German Football News, citing Bild, there were attempts to bring him to England in January and again this summer. Dortmund know about the interest but have not received a concrete offer.
๐ด Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested, but Bild rates their chances lower than City's.
๐บ๐ธ Born on 21 May 2009, Albert plays on the wing or as an attacking midfielder. He came off the bench late in a 4-0 win over Freiburg on 26 April to make his Bundesliga debut at 16 years and 340 days, becoming the youngest American to play in the league. On 29 September he scored his first USA goal in a 4-2 friendly win over Chile.
๐ Dortmund regard Albert as one of their biggest talents, and with him tied to a long-term contract they have no intention of letting him go.
๐ By the numbers
โข Bundesliga debut age: 16 years, 340 days (youngest American)
โข 2026-27: 110 minutes in 2 games (1 Bundesliga, 1 DFB-Pokal)
โข First USA goal: v Chile on 29 September, aged 17 years, 131 days
๐ญ Why it matters
After Sancho and Bellingham, the question is whether another Dortmund prodigy heads for an English giant. With only 110 minutes this season, though, regular game time is Albert's challenge. Dortmund visit Bayern Munich for Der Klassiker on 31 October.
