Beier vows to make Klopp's life harder after Germany snub

📰 Dortmund's Maximilian Beier, left out of Klopp's first Germany squad, has vowed to answer on the pitch. 📌 Key points 🇩🇪 Beier was not in Klopp's 44-man extended squad. 🗣️ Klopp gave him honest feedback that his positioning was a factor. 💪 "It wasn't the last camp," he said, promising to make it harder for Klopp. 🏃 He admitted training in a group of two over the break felt odd. 🏟️ Dortmund resume the league at home to Werder Bremen on 9 October. 📝 What happened 🎤 The 23-year-old told RTL/Sky he had a "good, open conversation" with Klopp. "He has given me honest feedback that my positioning plays a role, but I can work on that," he said. 🔁 Fussballdaten reports the background is that Beier mainly plays on the left wing at Dortmund, a position that does not exist in Klopp's system. Beier won 10 caps under Julian Nagelsmann and went to the World Cup. 💬 "It wasn't the last training camp. There are still a few more to come," he said, adding that he wants to make it harder for Klopp by simply playing well. On training during the break, he said: "Training just two of us was a bit odd. I prefer larger training groups." 📊 By the numbers • Germany's extended squad: 44 players (Beier not included) • Beier's caps: 10 (under Nagelsmann) • Beier this season: 1 goal, 3 assists in 7 games (per Fussballdaten) • Dortmund in the league: 4 wins from 4, top on 12 points 🔭 Why it matters Klopp is expected to trim his squad, so form for Dortmund is Beier's only route back. Of the Bremen game, he said: "We play at home in front of our fans and there's really only one outcome that matters." Dortmund host Werder Bremen on Friday night, 9 October, in Bundesliga Matchday 5.
