Walker: 'No one can take our titles away' after City guilty verdict
Post
๐ฐ Kyle Walker, who spent eight years at City, says no one can take away the club's titles despite the guilty verdict.
๐ Key points
๐๏ธ Walker spoke about City's verdict in an interview with talkSPORT.
๐ He said no one can take those nights away because the players lived them.
โ
He wants people to remember the titles were won the right way.
๐ He admitted the verdict "doesn't look good".
๐๏ธ The period under the charges includes Walker's 2017-18 season.
๐ What happened
๐๏ธ Walker, now Burnley captain, discussed Manchester City's guilty verdict on financial rule breaches with talkSPORT. "It is very hard, because we worked hard to win these titles, and not just us," he said, adding that he also thought of the fans who travelled across the country and abroad.
๐ "No one can take that away from us, whatever happens, because we actually lived those nights," Walker said of the trophies he won with his team-mates.
โ๏ธ He admitted that "obviously, it doesn't look good", while pointing out that the case is still under appeal. "We want people to remember us as those who won these titles, and that we won them the right way," he added.
๐
Walker joined City in 2017 and stayed until 2025, winning the Champions League in 2023. The independent commission examined the seasons from 2009-10 to 2017-18, which overlaps with his first title-winning campaign.
