🏟️ Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield on 11 October.
📝 What happened
😣 Jacquet felt tightness in his left hamstring in the hours before kick-off against Belgium. The French Football Federation confirmed a strain, and Zinedine Zidane said afterwards that the defender was slightly injured.
🧱 Signed from Rennes for £60 million, the 21-year-old has featured in all seven of Liverpool's matches this season, starting six of them alongside Virgil van Dijk.
🚑 He is not the only concern from the break. Alexander Isak was sent home by Sweden after one game with a minor thigh problem, while Cody Gakpo hurt his ankle with the Netherlands.
🔄 If Jacquet misses out, on-loan Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo and Joe Gomez are the options.
📊 By the numbers
• Jacquet's fee: £60 million
• Appearances this season: all 7 (6 starts)
• France 4-1 Belgium
🔭 Why it matters
The Anfield meeting with leaders Manchester City kicks off at 4.30pm on Sunday 11 October. Losing a key defender would be a major blow to Andoni Iraola's plans.
Liverpool then continue their Champions League campaign away at LASK on 14 October and at home to Villarreal on 20 October, so Jacquet's recovery could shape their whole October.
