📰 Vinícius Júnior apologised for his hair-pull red card – then, hours later, shared a post mocking the referees. 📌 Key points 🙏 Vinícius said sorry to his team and the fans after the sending-off. 📱 Hours later he shared a fan post on Instagram criticising the officiating. 😂 The caption called it "a disgrace" and he added three laughing emojis. ⚖️ Violent conduct carries a one-to-three-match ban; no ruling yet. 🏟️ A ban of two or more would rule him out of the Clásico on 25 October. 📝 What happened 🔴 In the 1-0 win over Villarreal on 10 October, the substitute had a goal ruled out and was sent off after VAR showed him pulling Nathan Saliba's hair in the build-up. 📱 He then wrote on social media that he was sorry to his team and the fans. But according to SPORTbible, hours later he reshared to his Instagram story a post from a fan page with more than 500,000 followers. It gathered fouls on him this season that did not bring red cards, captioned: "And the one who gets the yellow and red is Vinicius, what a disgrace." Vinícius added three laughing emojis. 🗞️ GOAL said the episode showed Vinícius once again feels unfairly treated, while GOAL Brazil gave him 3/10 and called the ending "disastrous". 🗣️ Team-mate Aurélien Tchouaméni said he did not know "what's going on with the referees". José Mourinho skipped his post-match press conference, reportedly to avoid a ban of his own. 📊 By the numbers • Violent conduct (no injury): one-to-three-match ban (Article 130) • Fan page shared: 500,000+ followers • El Clásico: 25 October at Camp Nou 🔭 Why it matters Vinícius is effectively certain to miss Sevilla at home on 18 October, and a ban of two games or more would also rule him out of the Clásico at Barcelona on 25 October. Mocking the officials straight after an apology does him no favours before the disciplinary ruling. He remains available for the Champions League trip to Roma on 14 October.
