Kane reportedly agrees deal in principle to extend Bayern stay to 2029
Post
๐ฐ Harry Kane has reached an agreement in principle with Bayern to extend his contract until 2029, according to Sky Germany.
๐ Key points
๐ค Kane and Bayern are said to have made a breakthrough in contract talks.
๐
The plan is to extend his deal, which expires in summer 2027, by two years to 2029.
โ๏ธ Final details are still being worked out and no signing date has been set.
โฝ Kane has 152 goals and 34 assists in 154 games for Bayern.
๐ He has finished as the Bundesliga's top scorer in all three of his seasons in Munich.
๐ What happened
๐บ Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg and colleagues reported on 5 October that Kane and Bayern have reached an agreement in principle. Both sides are now clarifying the last details. The deal has not been signed and no date has been fixed.
๐ฐ GOAL added that salary terms have been agreed, with performance-related clauses and other specifics still to be finalised. There had previously been talk of a deal to 2030, but this report names 2029 as the target.
๐ฆ Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in summer 2023 for around โฌ100m. He has since won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal and two Super Cups, and topped the league scoring charts in every season.
๐ If the 33-year-old signs, talk of a Premier League return is effectively over. Bayern would keep their main goal threat into his mid-thirties.

๐ญ Why it matters
Kane is in such form that he is seen as a leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. Wrapping up his extension with a year and a half left on his deal would let Bayern focus on contract talks with Michael Olise. The remaining question is when the official announcement comes.
